Hailing Luo, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at China Agricultural University and Sanya Research Institute, has been honored with the Ministry of Education’s “New Century Excellent Talents Award”, “the China Female Scientists Service Award”, “China Livestock Industry Advanced Worker”, “China Agriculture University Teaching Special Award”, and “China Agricultural University Outstanding Teacher”. She currently serves as Position Scientist in the National Sheep Breeding System, Vice Chairperson of the Chinese Sheep Breeding Society, Council Member of the Chinese Society of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Deputy Secretary-General of the Sheep Industry Branch of the China Animal Industry Association, Member of the National Animal Husbandry Standards Committee, Expert in the National Sheep Genetic Improvement Expert Group, Standing Council Member of the High-Tech Committee of the Chinese Society of Agricultural, and National Agricultural Extension Expert. With over 30 years of teaching and research in sheep and goat science, she has published more than 200 papers, authored 10 monographs in Chinese and English, secured 20 patents (with 2 successfully commercialized), and supervised over 80 doctoral and master’s students. Her students have received honors including “Beijing Outstanding Graduate”, “Young Scientist Award” at international conferences, and awards for outstanding conference papers. In recent years, Professor Luo’s research in the field of mutton quality and flavor has been particularly notable. She published China’s first monograph on mutton quality regulation and proposed the theory and concept of synergistic improvement in both quantity and quality for the sheep industry.
