Dr. Nazir Ahmad Khan is a globally recognized expert in ruminant nutrition, feed innovation, and sustainable livestock systems, with over 17 years of high-impact academic, research, and industry experience. He earned his PhD with distinction in Animal Nutrition from Wageningen University, The Netherlands, and pursued advanced postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he was awarded the prestigious PIFI Visiting Scientist Fellowship. Currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Animal Nutrition at The University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan, he has served as Principal Investigator on nine extramurally funded projects, published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, and supervised over 100 MSc and PhD researchers. His pioneering research integrates forage evaluation, silage quality optimization, protein quality enhancement of oilseeds, and biotechnological pretreatment of low value feeds with molecular spectroscopy and machine learning for rapid feed evaluation, precision nutrition, and methane mitigation. Elected as a Fellow of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (2021–2031) and recipient of multiple high-citation research awards, Dr. Khan also serves on editorial boards of leading JCR-indexed journals including the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, International Journal of Microbiology, BioMed Research International, and Frontiers in Plant Science, reflecting his international recognition as an expert in ruminant nutrition, feed innovation, and sustainable livestock systems.
